West Health Study Taps ServTracker Mobile Meals App
West Health Institute recently released the results of a 12-month long study into how home delivered meal program drivers can proactively identify the health and safety needs of vulnerable older adults. ServTracker’s Mobile Meals App technology with electronic alert capability gives drivers an early warning system to signal care coordinators of changes in a client’s condition.
In the study, drivers used the ServTracker Mobile Meals App in two pilot sites in California reaching more than 3,600 clients. The drivers alerted care coordinators of changes in health, self-care, personal safety and mobility, resulting in referrals for care management services. The study found that this methodology is an effective and feasible approach to improve meal service delivery and monitor and improve quality of life.
The study is currently expanding to 26 sites around the country, with intent to add additional agencies over the course of time.
